Shai Babad is serving as the Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Finance since June 2015.

Prior to joining the Ministry, Mr. Babad held several managerial positions in the public and private sectors. In 2013-2014 Mr. Babad served as the CEO of the Second Authority for Television & Radio, where he was responsible for the regulation of the commercial media market. Previously, he served as CEO at 'Zim Integrated Shipping Services' and held positions in Apax Investment Group.

Shai Babad holds a Bachelor's degree in Law and Economics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Master's degree in Economics and Finance from the London School of Economics. In addition, Shai is a graduate of the Harvard Senior Executive program.
