Dr. Netta Avineri

TESOL/TFL Assistant Professor, Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey

Dr. Netta Avineri is an assistant professor in TESOL/TFL at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS), where she teaches Linguistics, Education, Intercultural Competence, and International Education Management courses. She serves as the Intercultural Competence Committee Chair, cofounded the MIIS Intercultural Digital Storytelling Project, and is academic co-director for the Center for Social Impact Learning’s Ambassador Corps. She is an applied linguist and linguistic anthropologist whose research interests include heritage language socialization, language and social justice, interculturality, and critical service-learning. Her book Research Methods for Language Teaching: Inquiry, Process, and Synthesis, published by Palgrave Macmillan, will be released in early 2017.
